Hi Chris, Yes we do have a West Bromwich Local History Society, I am a member, What do you want to know, This site is full of wonderful people who will answer any questions. Cannot find and do not remember a Brearly St though, I think more info is needed. Barbara

Hi Chris, still can't find Brerley St but some roads have vanished in the area although I have usually heard of them, The other addresses are in 2 areas, Roebuck St and Florence Road are by the Motorway Junction not far from the West Bromwich Albion ground , The other 3 addresses Bromford Lane, Moor St (in census as moore possibly) and Barton St are within 100 yards of each other near the centre of the town. All these roads are still there at present although many have been redeveloped. There were many Ironworks in West Bromwich last century and a lot of the houses were quite poor and often had several families in them, and a lot of them tended to swap addresses quite often sometimes by only one house number I do have Censuses if you want to pass on names. Barton Street ran off Richard Street South it formed the Junction were the Rising Sun pub was. Moor Street ran (still does but for how long?) into Bromford Lane and Richard Street South,

There does not seem to be a Brearly Street actualy in West Bromwich. I have checked a few old West Bromwich maps from around that time and asked an old relative who was born in West Bromwich and found that there was a Bailey Street in he town centre which might have been translated diffrently on the census form . I have however found a Brearly Street on the out skirts of the Handsworth and West Bromwich border towards the New Inns pub.
