Every flavour of ice-cream and toppings you can imagine and sooooo cold it gave me a headache. We always went there as a family on Sundays. Remember the little back room too, extra space if the front seating area was full, which it always was.

Around 1954/5 I was in Trows with my Gran when Ronnie Allen came in for a cornet,he was my soccer hero and I think the team around that time were renowned for playing attractive attacking soccer with Allen as a prolific scorer.

From memory he was of course recognised by the staff and customers and seemed to be a charming understated hero, how unlike some of todays players.

I now live near to Fulham and support both teams, especially now that Albion have Hodgson, again one of the nicest and straight blokes in the game.

Happy days or was it all a dream?
