My great grandfather was presented with a medal from the Ancient order of Druids for services as guardian in the above lodge.

I can find no trace of this lodge or indeed the Druids in West Brom around 1850/1900.

Does anyone know about this movement as Sandwell Archives have no trace?

There used to be a Dartmouth Masonic Lodge in Edward St, I wonder if it's anything to do with that ?

Many thanks for your reply NZB.

I checked with the Masons and it is not their current or old Lodge.

It is def the Ancient Order of Druids medal.

I have sent Paul a photo front and back of this medal which will be posted in due course.

I have found 3 references to this Lodge in the Chronicle for 1902,many names are mentioned and also the Hawthorn Blossom lodge who met at the Club House Dial Lane  Hill Top. Lodge 537 was thriving and had over 200 members and met at the Assembly Rooms in the Sandwell Hotel when they opened in 1902.
