i have heard some stories of why it is called the jinglers, but they all differ greatly so I would like to know if anyone really does know why it is nicknamed the jinglers?

Apparently one of the old landlords at the pub did not have a till so when someone brought a drink he would put the coins in his apron which had a large pocket at the front, but he had an annoying habit of putting his hands in and jingling the coins hence the local name jingler’s

i'm 83,i was told by my elders that the landlord used to stand in the pub doorway jingling the coins in his pocket,i guess either explanation is logical.

Jingler was my step grandfather my father told me that jingler was a man who liked a bet and there was an illegal bookie near the Five Ways one day he backed a race horse called jingling goergie and won a lot of money hence old jingler. He used to keep pigs at the back of the pub the original pub was about 30 yards from where the pub now stands
