OLD WEST BROMWICH PHOTOS

I know this is just over the border in Oldbury, but I am hoping someone may recall this. The BBC made a programme of the transport of several very large storage tanks (over 200ft long) from Babcock's in Oldbury all the way to Wytch Farm oil field in Dorset.   It was called 'Life in the Slow Lane'.  They travelled via J1 at West Bromwich because they couldn't get under the M5 at Oldbury, down the M5, along the M4, the went through Newbury and on to the Isle of Purbeck.  The route was very circuitous because of the length.  I believe it may have been in 1979 or thereabouts but have been unable to find the exact year.  If anyone can help I would be most grateful.  I believe they took one a week for about nine weeks, each journey taking five days.
