Hello Tony,
It's nice to hear from you ! You will have to tell me how you are related to Jack I was saddened to hear that he is no longer with us, he was a great Man with his broad Welsh accent and for some reason I always remember his HUGE hands We used to have a butchers shop ( I bought it off the other Jack Hughes !) and he used to come in every Saturday for his Sirloin Steak and we always used to have a chat about the football or the rugby, we would always put the world to right and he always used to mention his sister. He was great friends with Neil Garrity at Guests Motors and they used to go to the rugby together and it was Jack who introduced me to Neil and when I closed the shop for good it was Neil who offered me a job at Firkins where Neil was then working We left the shop around 11 years ago now and that was the last time I saw Jack, but he must have been in his 70s then ? A big man...a gentle giant ! Paul |
